The following notes may be helpful for those beta testing asterisk 1.6:

Compilation:

• Be sure to include both --crypto and --ssl in the configure line
• Some dependencies on some platforms have broken or non-standard handling of includes, especially for  openssl and mysql dependencies. One graceless "solution" for some will be to convert the <openssl/ssl.h> include directives to "openssl/ssl.h" and temporarily symlink the actual openssl header includes directory into the including file's directory. In our testing, we saw the most new problems with the following:
  • include/asterisk/tcptls.h
  • include/asterisk/jabber.h

Dialplan (extensions.conf):

• The beta of 1.6 currently is not ver forgiving of spaces surroundling labels in GotoIf or ExecIf statements. Calls with spaces that worekd previously will be broken until the spaces are removed.
• Use comma (,) instead of the pipe symbol (|) to designate application parameters. Using pipes in GotoIf doesn't work, or doesn't work reliably currently.
